These awards will be presented at the 2021 PDA Annual Meeting on Advancing People, Connecting Data, and Evolving Manufacturing Technologies, at the 2021 Award Ceremony on March 24, 2021.
Amanda McFarland, ValSource Senior Consultant will be awarded the Distinguished Services Award, given for special acts, contributions, or service that help advance the success and strength of PDA, for her efforts in the creation and implementation of risk management programs and training, developing risk-based strategies for contamination control and risk facilitation, and her roles as PDA Quality Risk Management (QRM) Interest Group Co-lead, Southeast Chapter Secretary, PDA Training and Research Institute (TRI) faculty member and content developer for the QRM Certificate Training Series, Membership Advisory Committee Co-Chair, and Co-Chair of the PDA Standard Practice for Quality Risk Management of Aseptic Processes task force.
Dr. Michael Long, ValSource Director of MSAT Consulting Business Services is receiving the Service Appreciation Award, presented in recognition of special services performed on behalf of PDA, for his work on Scientific Advisory Boards and Interest Groups advancing product, process, and validation development efforts on a wide range of pharmaceutical, biopharma, medical device, and combination products.
Marc Glogovsky, ValSource Senior Microbiology Consultant and member of the PDA Scientific Advisory Board will be presented with the James P. Agalloco Award for excellence in education for his long-standing work as a principal instructor and content provider with the PDA TRI in the fields of aseptic operations, contamination control strategies, and risk-based environmental monitoring.
Dr. James Vesper is receiving the Distinguished Editor/Author Award, presented for the best editor or author of a PDA-DHI co-published book, as chosen by PDA members. Dr. Vesper is receiving this honor for his book on Root Cause Investigation for CAPA: Clear and Simple (2020), as well as his work in the pharma/biopharmaceutical industry for more than 35 years in learning/education, learning course design, risk management, and incident investigations related to the category of “human error.”
